Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, Abu Dhabi University, UAE
Responsible for teaching, researching and providing academic services. Teaching activities include
preparing and delivering courses according to ABET criteria. Research activities include producing original
research and supervising student projects. Academic services include participating in department, college
and university committees, contributing to new programs, such as the Masters in Electrical Engineering,
contributing to ABET accreditation and reviewing technical manuscripts, conferences and grants.

Responsibilities included experimental and theoretical research. The research mainly focused on modeling
and generating experimental microwave signals using optical techniques. Tunable and low phase noise
microwave signals were generated and the findings were published in reputable scientific journals.

Responsibilities included supporting graduate and undergraduate students, supervising the photonics
applications laboratory at Dalhousie University, performing original research in the area of nonlinear

 Femtosecond laser systems, pulse analyzers, optical vector analyzer, optical spectrum
analyzers and the Fiber Bragg grating fabrication system (Innova 300C frequency-doubled
ion laser), in addition to all other fundamental optical laboratory equipment and operations.
 Atomic force microscopy (AFM), nanonics imaging systems (dry cell/ liquid cell),
near field microscopy (NSOM).
