Filipino-Canadian singer-songwriter Gio Levy’s first original gospel song entitled “If You Believe” is
ASOP’s grand finalist song from the month of July. “If You Believe” is a power ballad based on his
personal experiences. The song’s uplifting lyrics laid on a memorable melody, urge others who are
experiencing hardship to have faith in God. The composer dedicated the song to his parents six
years ago – during the most difficult time in their lives. From the romantic-themed songs of his
musical interests, Gio further proves his genre versatility with his first gospel composition.
According to the talented composer, his experience in the songwriting competition has helped him
learn more about this skill. In crafting and rewriting the song, the composer said that the key is to
keep writing from your heart.
