LIFE TO THE FULL

BIBLE STUDY SERIES

Study Leader’s Guide

Introduction

While the Life to the Full Study Guide contains the scriptures, main headings and
questions, this Study Leader’s Guide (SLG) contains all the suggested answers as
well as instructions for the SL. The Study Leader (SL) should review and master
the SLG prior to the study. It is not advisable for the SL to bring this guide during
the study itself or to show it to the student.

The SLG is not intended to be an exhaustive instruction manual on how to do the

Bible studies and neither is it comprehensive enough to cover all types of
students. The SLG was written with the average student in mind.

General Instructions for Study Leader (SL)

1. The "Life to the Full" Bible Study Series is in English but the SL should use a
Bible in the language the student is more familiar with. When necessary, the
SL should translate the questions and points in the more familiar language.
2. The SL should ask the questions indicated and avoid just giving the answers
or preaching the study. A Bible study should be a journey of discovery for
the student.
3. If the answer is generally consistent with the point, encourage the student
(e.g. "very good, you are right!").
4. Some answers may be different from what is expected but if the answer is
consistent with the scripture, encourage the student for his understanding
(e.g. "that’s a good insight") but explain the point you want to make (e.g.
“also, the scripture is saying that …”). If the answer is not consistent with the
scripture read but consistent with the Bible, encourage still (“yes, the Bible
teaches that too”) but read the scripture again and ask the question in
another way (“ok so what does that sentence mean?”)
5. Statements in brackets are instructions to the SL and should not be read to
the student.
6. Give the student enough time to share his heart. The SL should not talk more
than the student. A Bible study is not like preaching where the preacher does
all the talking. It is a discussion where the SL and student share equal time in
sharing.
7. The focus of the Bible study should be the scriptures and how it applies to
the student. The SL should make sure that the discussion does not drift and
linger on other topics.
The Order of the Studies

1. It is generally advisable to begin the series with the Jesus Study. This sets
the tone of the entire series — that it is all about Jesus. The focus of the
entire series is to help the student, whether religious or not, to begin having a
relationship with Jesus.
2. It may be necessary sometimes to start with the Word of God Study if the
person has questions about the Bible being the Word of God.
3. It might also be necessary to start with the Discipleship Study if the student is
deeply self-righteous or thinks that he already has a relationship with Jesus
and obeying the Bible.
4. After starting with Jesus, Word or Discipleship, there are studies which
should be done before particular studies:

a. Discipleship before Sin

b. Sin before Cross, Repentance, Baptism
c. Repentance before Baptism
d. Lordship must always be last
