The Church’s One Foundation

Tagalog Trans. Vicente Mar. Aguila
Ang Imnaryong Kristiyano (1991) 256

Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth, Daming lingkod ni Cristong sa mundo’y nagkalat,
One charter of salvation, one God, one faith, one birth, S’ya rin ang Panginoon at Tagapagligtas
One name together blessing, one holy food we share, Taglay nati’ pag-asa na angkop at dapat
To one hope we are pressing at one with work and prayer. Tunay din ang tiwala sa buhay N’yang gawad.

Opening Prayer
Faithful God, we thank you that when we walk close to you in this earthly pilgrimage, the valley
of the weeper becomes a place of springs. We thank you for all those who walked in faith before
us, acting in courage and seeking your ways. Grant us wisdom and courage for the living of these
days; through the grace of Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Act of Affirmation

Affirmation of Faith and Mission (altogether)
We are all one in mission; we are all one in call,
Our varied gifts united by Christ, the Lord of all.
A single great commission compels us from above
To plan and work together that all may know Christ’s love.

3
We all are called for service, to witness in God’s name.
Our ministries are different, our purpose is the same:
To touch the lives of others by God’s surprise grace,
So every folk and nation may feel God’s warm embrace.

Now let us be united, and let our song be heard.

Now let us be a vessel for God’s redeeming Word.
We all are one in mission; we all are one in call,
Our varied gifts united by Christ, the Lord of all.
Hymn
Hymn of Our Faith Journey
Helen S. Tejero, 2001
HFJ 1
The Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer is the Great Triune God of our lives.
All creation finds purpose and meaning and meaning and fulfillment in God’s wondrous plan.
In Christ God became flesh to dwell among us, through the Spirit we’re guided along.
God empowers us all to live out our faith, to the glory of the Triune God.

We’re created to be in God’s image, men and women in equality.

God anointed us all for the service and be stewards of all God’s great works.
To live in communion with all creation and establish a just social life.

God’s inspired instrument to instruct us is the Bible, the great Word of God,
To illumine, to guide and correct us, and to brighten our pathway to heaven.
God is working to make us new beings in Christ, and the whole world, God’s kingdom to be,
Where God’s presence is felt, the hungry are fed, the oppressed and the captives are freed.

We have triumphed over death with our Savior, Jesus Christ is our own risen Lord.
He will gather us all in his fullness, to inherit the Kingdom of God.
He has given the gift of eternal life, so that all who believe may be saved.
We all look forward to his coming again, to gather us all in his fold.

We Are One in Community
Roy Mark Berame, Jr.
HFJ 273

We are one in community, united by the spirit, and bound with freedom and love
We are called to be brothers, sisters, family.
We are bound in Jesus Christ, in him we work and praise the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
The Good News of salvation, proclaimed in words and deeds.

We are one in community, together we are working with understanding, respect,

Sharing love to all God’s command we will obey,
Reconciling us to God, and caring for the weak and hungry, freedom to the captives,
Rebuke to all the wicked, to share God’s Holy Word.

We are one in community, empowered by the spirit, now working in you and me.
Diff’rent gifts bestowed we must work in one accord,
For we serve one Lord alone, so we shall break the walls dividing, break all pride and prejudice,
To share the love of Jesus and greet each one Shalom!
