Truthfulness: Under no circumstances, I always tell the truth and the things I

know at each stage of the process at work because I hope to improve efficiency of
the company’s project, to build relationships with my colleague due to the belief
people have on me, as well as encourage honesty in others.

Respecting others: I always treat all people, not except anyone, the way I want to
be treated-with all my respect because this let everyone knows that they are valued
for their abilities, achievements, their qualities, and their role is important to their
company’s success, this also helps them promote teamwork and increase
productivity.

Fair competition: As leader, I will reward each other’s best performance, or value
personal goal. If everyone does their best for company, they will be rewarded base
on their contribution with fair supervision from leaders because I emphasize on the
company’s benefit, not competitor’s drawbacks to pull them down and I do not
want my personal emotion affects the work.

Empathy: “Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes” – In each
situation, I always consider other people’s perspectives to understand their feeling
and think that If I were he/she, what would I do and then decide to criticize them or
not because I respect everyone and I treat everyone the same, not priority to
resolve any conflicts, build more productivity teamwork, improve the relationships
between co-workers.

If I were Alice, as the leader, I will give advises for each problem between
members. At first, I need to know each individual’s reason and their thoughts
(private meeting)

Brian-Cathy-Denis: I will advice that everyone is the same, no hierarchy between


members, we are the team, we have to help each other to gain the benefit for the
company, no one has the permission to look down on anyone, and then I will show
Denis the error may occur if the timeline is short, and it is such a tall order for
Brian and Cathy to take over. I advise that the team should have a time to arrange
each main point in order of importance and decide the time period for each to reach
the members’ consensus. By this way, each member will have a chance to voice
their difficulties with timeline and their reasons, then we will find out the solution
together.
Cathy’s problem: I will advice that everyone is the leader, Cathy and Denis can
share the tasks to complete it effectively, Cathy can also learn from Denis-who has
more experience in database design and development and Denis also find
something new from Cathy because she may have new idea or new ways to solve
problems. By this way, Cathy and Denis can improve their skills and understand
each other through works to strengthen the relationship between colleague. And by
sharing the tasks, contributing more idea to reinforce the teamwork as well as
increase productivity.

Brian’s problem: I will explain clearly the situation base on what I gain from the
private meeting, I will emphasize the basic requirements of “teamwork” and ask
him to back to work, take the opportunity from challenges for his promotion. I will
state his value in the team and share the idea that how his role is important in team
to boost himself and he will have more motivation to show his best for the work
and the company, as well.

Above all, as the leader, I have to supervisor my member fairly, no priority, show
my respect to them and I have to show them how I value each member’s position,
how I reward their contribution to the work and I have to build trust in them so that
they can share their difficulties and together we will find out solutions, not only the
company’s work, but also for our relationship between co-worker.
