MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATION: ENHANCING LEADERSHIP


THROUGH BUILDING COMMUNICATIONAL SKILLS

Part I: SUMMARY/SYNOPSIS

Enhancing leadership constructs the domain of social identity, and business

strategy. Leadership communications set of techniques that proposed leaders to engage

their audience, to capture the specific opportunities and advance an audience relationship

based on the capacity and willingness.

There are two key assumptions about leader communications. First, is every

communication event is managing relationship and two, how leaders develop a

relationship is impacted by their practiced leadership style in their communication. These

two assumptions are great consideration of developing communications; it should have

an impact the vision and direction of growth and also have a potential success of

organization. Leaders communicate for different purposes with different audiences.

Sometimes they just want to transfer information and inform, which called content focus,

telling or cognitive objects. Sometimes leaders wants to inform and get agreement to

close the deal that called persuasion, selling, engagement, emotional experiences or for

future benefits. Leaders gain higher communication purpose with a goal for the audience

to willingly share the ownership of the leaders’ purpose and advocate their cause. Being

able to learn and adapt has become vital for sustainability dimension of strategy. As we

observed each of the communications and efforts with a variety of audiences by a

presenters and considered both success and failure outcome.

Therefore, Leaders face the continuing challenge of how they can meet the

expectations of those who placed them there. Addressing these expectations usually takes

the form of strategic decisions and actions. The possibly purpose of enhancing leadership

through communication skills are vast majority of communication with people familiar

with institutions, profession and individuals. Audiences tended to stay in a credible and

sophisticated in techniques. Next, is to demarcating communication and bringing many

more interpretation of a message to attention all audiences.

Communications are no longer controlled of any leader’s message and

everywhere will have a voice, an audience, and an agenda within minutes on the internet.

Leaders communicate to representing their organization and them also speaking for their

profession and them as individuals. But leaders cannot learn enough on their own, to

effectively adapt the strategy and then define and execute the organizational response. If

leaders are want to win they must rely on the prepare minds of employees through

understanding the strategic and both carry out the current strategy to adapt in real time.

Part II: ANALYSIS OR EVALUATION

The article left out important because it sites on how to enhance leadership skills

and even business strategy. It really helps more to the particular person because they can

gain knowledge from it. It happens in every organization for them to become a great one.

Communicational skills is one of the quality of a person must have. It is one of the

important in this generation; everything is now standardized by in good communication

either written or oral. Verbal communication is the most obvious form of communication.

However, research has shown people pay much less attention to the words that are said

and much more attention to the actions and nonverbal cues that accompany those words.

Nonverbal cues include facial expressions, use of hand motions, body posture, and eye

movements. Leaders should strive to always match their nonverbal cues to their words;

when they do so, they are more believable and trustworthy.

The majority of the communication has people do with their institutions;

professionals and individual o tend the most global society and communicate frequently

with other leaders. The communicational skills had an impact of the people because of

the democratizing communications and bringing more interpretations of the message to

the attention of all audiences. The leader’s messages are everywhere today and will have

a voice, an audience and an agenda within minutes on the internet.

Leaders communicate to represent their organization and also speaking for their

profession and themselves as individual audiences decides the social role to interpret the

leader’s message no matter how much the leaders try to frame a preferred social role.

Planning specific leader communications to positional leader preferred social role can

became a critical factor affecting communication success.

This article is exaggerated of a business communicator typically on the audiences

to improve the goals of transferring information and believe that they have done a good

job with an accomplished. Communicational skills over emphasize the impact of the

leaders to engage or persuade a complete transaction and when a leaders communicate

they presenting their organization and speaking for their profession and as individuals.

Therefore communicating other people you must bring not just yourself but also

representing the profession you have now toady.

According to the result of the preliminary research of the conducted survey that

has been took place in July of 2016 and has been participated by 75% of American

students and 25% foreign were shown a three and a half minute video clip of an

introduction of Hilary Clinton during a campaign stop in San Diego on June 2, 2016. As

being conducted, first thing that has been done where showing the respondents a four 45

seconds clip that had been pre-mapped by 3rd order communication. Right after, we asked

institutional, professional, or personal identities or social roles. Respondents could

choose one role, a mix of two roles, or all three roles. Thus, there were no biases of the

study being conducted.

Part III: PERSONAL REFLECTION

The article was just imply that through/ having strong communication and skills

can enhance in how you interacted with the people around you. Being a leader is not just

a leader by itself without any implication applied in how to be efficient and effective

leader.

When you are dealing with people around you, it is to important to communicate

with each other in order to have or to build strong relationship communication being of

the utmost importance. As a leader great communication is critical not just to provide

details, but also be motivated, inspire and manage relationships to move people in a

desired direction.

When in a leadership position, we often don`t realize that the spotlight is always

on us. Everything we say and do is being scrutinized, for better or for worse. By

accepting both the honor and challenge of reading people, it is important to remember

that we do both on and off of the effects to our ability in leading. Leadership is a

privilege that must be earned every day.

Communication is much more than the words we say and how we articulate what

the team wants to hear. Effective communication is also about emotional intelligence,

knowing your audience and active listening.

sharing or sharing of ideas and feelings. As a ABM student communication is very

important because it helps on enhancing our skills in communicating effectively and

broaden our knowledge about our taking course. Through communication, it will give us

a confident in facing customers well and mannered. By that, we can create an effective

communication because being able to communicate effectively is the most important of

all skills.

In this article the question raised for me, “How the communication strategies is

very important in Business? Since our society nowadays are into social media. It helps

the leaders to an easy process and to achieve a successful communication with the

audience via online world. Leaders are who gives information to the audience and the

audience transfers the information to inform others. In this case, it is suitable for the

leaders to be flexible to interact with other people in order to attain a good result.

The questions cannot be answered on a follow through or research because it

does not have a strong evident that will support its answer. Most of the questions given

are based on the articles that will connect to the possible answers. In order for it to have

an authenticity, the answers to the question must relate and based on the article given.

Somehow, some of the readers can answer on a follow through or research if they have a

background on the articles.

Part IV: APPLICATION TO PRACTICE

Effective leadership in a small business requires knowing how to communicate

with all elements of the organization, including employees, manager, customer and

inventors. Each group may require a different communication style and leadership style.

Leaders must be able to adopt based on the group they are communicating with at the

time. Effective communication skills are important aspect of any leaders’ portfolio of

skills and experience. A good leader adapts his communication style depending on his

audience. When speaking to employee, he may need to have a much more directive style

than when he is delivering a presentation to the community or speaking to customers,

Leaders should identity the audience and their characteristics and interests, then adjust

their communication style based on what the audience needs and what will encourage

then to react meet the goals of the communication.

As today’s leaders approach the business communicate typically their audience

with a goal of transferring information. This goal is grounded in what we call order where

the objective is to focus on content. Skillful leaders go beyond a focus on content and

engage to persuade their audience to complete transactions. So the evidences that most of

the business suggested is to use the last century techniques to tell the consumers on how

to sell its product. Progress those basic communications strategy is to focus the

communication to gain and to success greater/ stronger business selling.

In order to attain the leaders’ communication skills for them to gain a successful

stronger business selling, we suggest to conduct leadership training for them to develop

their leadership skills and communicating skills so well.

Communicational Skills must be enhancing the social role of the executive or

leader on the observer based. There are three roles identity in terms of the observation.

First, is institutional/ observation. The leader is dependent on the organizational theory

for communication credibility or positional power such as the CEO or the owner of the

company. Second, professional/ expert, the leader is here to talk as an experienced

executive as a doctor, PhD scientist they must standing as professional in front of the

patient or many person. Third, is personal, forget the company and the leader represents

the professional training and experience in a fellow human being, patent, or a citizen. The

successful communications occurs when everyone enhance their skills in receiving

information from the others. In any form of business, communication skills must be

enhancing in order for them to have a proper and decent way through transact their goods

and services. When leaders communicate representing their organization, they are

speaking for their profession and for themselves as individuals.

Effective communication skills do not come naturally for most people. Many

people, including business leaders and managers, need to practice repeatedly in order to

improve their skills. In addition to practicing, leaders should consider classes or training

that will help them communicate effectively. With the tool known as 360- degree

evaluation, every person in the organization is evaluated by one or more superior,

colleges and employees. Leaders can participate in 360- degree evaluations both to serve

as an example for employees and to indentify whether their communication skills need an

improvement.
