1. Ingredients

 Mostly our survival candy contains granulated sugar; it should be fine-grained in

order to get the best result of the candy.

 Glycerine can also be used because it helps the candy to be smooth and creamy.

 Butter is also used to add a little more taste for the candy but stale butter, or butter

that are salty are cannot be used in making the candy.

 Glucose helps the sugar from granulating that is needed for the candy. We will

also be adding fruits because that is the most important ingredient that is needed

in our candy, local fruits are going to be used in making the candy.

2. Syrup temperatures testing in cold water

 230 – 235 degrees = thread stage

Letting a little syrup drop from a spoon; and it will form a thread

 238 – 240 degrees = soft ball stage

The syrup forms a soft ball between the fingers when dropped in cold water

 250-255 degrees = hard ball stage

 280 – 290 degrees = crack stage

It cracks or becomes brittle when dropped in cold water

 300 – 310 degrees = hard crack stage

All the water has evaporated and the syrup is about to burn.

3. Coloring and Flavoring

 Colorings can be obtained in liquid form or paste form. Mostle the commonly

used colors of the candies are; red, yellow, green orange and blue, but as you

experiment more, you can create diferent types of gradient in each of that colors

that will make your candy more appealing.

 Flavouring is one of the great variety of the candy, use only pure extracts of oil

and flavors are very strong, that is why when putting different types of oil and

flavorings we should put less or only few drops. You should put the flavouring

after the syrup has been removed to fire, because it will boil out.

4. Nutritional Values

 Carbohydrates

This is the main source of energy, they are the ones who are fuelling the internal

functions and the running of the nervous system. This should be put in our candy

because one of the needs in survival is the energy of the body to do work in order

to survive.

 Proteins

These are the basic chemical units of living. They are very essential for the

growth and the repair of the body and amino acids. This is included in some of

our fruits that we are going to use in making our candy.

 Minerals

These are needed for bones, bones are one of the important parts of the body used

in surviving because people are going to do a lot of work and going to walk miles

just to survive and our bones should be strong in order to stand stronger and do

bigger works.

 Vitamins

They are the ones who protect us from different types of illness, in surviving we

will encounter forests, many disasters and difficult circumstances that are new to

our normal work, and our boy are not used to that work leading to pains and other

sickness that we may have. Sun can help us because we absorbs its Vitamin D that

helps us synthesize our skins.

VI. Conclusion/Synthsis

1. The candy should not just be a normal candy, we shall create a much better candy

than the other candy that can be eaten by people and can really last for a long period

of time that have nutrients in them in order to help the person in surviving.

2. The making of the candy needs to have plenty of sugar that is well grained in order to

create a perfect product and it should have the appealing look that can make the

people grab more of it, the flavors should be specific and cannot be mixed because it

is very strong that it might ruin the taste of the candy.

3. Our researches served as our guide on what and how would our candy be looking like

and what should be in the candy that can help the people to survive in enough time.
