Misunderstandings are common occurrences that can cause troubles or humorous moments. The document describes two examples of misunderstandings from the author's life - ordering white rice with chicken instead of "arroz con pollo" for his girlfriend, and thinking he had a girlfriend after a classmate hugged him saying it was their one month anniversary when they had not agreed to be in a relationship. While misunderstandings are unavoidable, paying close attention to what others say can help reduce them.

We all have passed for many situations, specially misunderstandings.
Sometimes they could give us troubles or fun moments. You should pay attention to what you are told or you could misunderstand something said by another person.
For example, when I was at university in my second year, I used to live
with my girlfriend and I often asked her what kind of things she liked. One day I asked her what her favorite food was and she said, “I would like arroz con pollo for lunch.” But I understood that she wanted white rice with chicken on it. Obviously, she was really disappointed when she arrived home and didn’t want to eat it. We ended up eating in a restaurant.
Another misunderstanding was at school in 2012. I was kind of dating a
classmate for a long time. After months, I asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend. At the moment, she didn’t answer me, but we continued talking. I thought she wanted time to answer. Suddenly, after a month, she hugged me and said, “happy first month, it is five!”. I was really confused, I had a girlfriend out of nothing. I told her that I was happy for our first month anniversary, but there was a huge question mark in my head.
I think I have had more misunderstandings on my life, at home, at school,
in classes. Small ones like buying another thing when my mom tells me to buy something, or when your friend introduces someone to you and you forget their name and so on.
To conclude, misunderstandings are part of our life. So when you have
one, remember that there will be more coming. Try to get the best of them, sometimes they help you to improve in some things or they could also give you funny moments.
