GCSO LAW ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY


OCTOBER 19, 2020 – OCTOBER 25, 2020

On Monday, October 19, Sgt. S. Ferrell executed an Emergency Motion for Child Pick-Up
on Nathan Street in Wewahitchka. During the course of executing that order, Dorothy
Wylene Lauderdale (52) was arrested for obstructing a law enforcement officer.

On Tuesday, October 20, Deputy B. McCorvey executed an arrest warrant on Garrison


Avenue by arresting James Carlton Bateman (48). Bateman was wanted for failing to
appear in court on a criminal offense for driving with a suspended driver’s license. While
taking Bateman into custody, Deputy McCorvey observed Bateman trying to conceal a
small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bateman was also charged
with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering
with Evidence.

On Tuesday, October 20, Deputy B. McCorvey arrested Sydney Joyce Sims (21) at the Dixie
Dandy in Wewahitchka. Sims was wanted on a Calhoun County warrant for Sale of
Methamphetamine.

On Tuesday, October 20, Deputy B. McCorvey executed an arrest warrant on Parker Farm
Road in Wewahitchka by arresting Sondra Jane Parker (57). Parker was wanted for
Violation of Probation on the original charge of Grand Theft.

On Thursday, October 22, Randall Kevin Green (48) turned himself in at the Gulf County
Detention Facility to be booked on a warrant for Battery. Green’s arrest is the result of
an incident that occurred on October 15, 2020, on Crestwood Lane in Wewahitchka.

On Thursday, October 22, Deputy D. Goodman executed an arrest warrant in the 8000
block of Hwy 98 by arresting Ervin Coachman Jr. (50). Coachman was wanted on a warrant
issued by the Port St. Joe Police Department for Battery.

On Friday, October 23, Investigator John Murnan obtained an arrest warrant for Terry Lee
Brock (57), charging him with Sexual Battery on victim under 12 years old. Brock was

arrested on Woodpark Drive in Wewahitchka and transported to the Gulf County
Detention Facility.

On Saturday, October 24, Deputy B. McCorvey arrested Michael Allen Hammond (40) at
a residence on McGlon Drive in Wewahitchka. Hammond was wanted on a capias for
failing to appear in court on charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering
with Evidence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Sunday, October 25, Deputy B. McCorvey observed two individuals riding four-
wheelers on Brian Setterich Road in Wewahitchka. When Deputy McCorvey attempted
to stop the vehicles, they both accelerated and fled into Buckhorn Cemetery. Deputy
McCorvey caught one of the subjects, who was identified as Ben James Paulk Jr. (31). The
other suspect was identified as Curt Larson Johnson (37). Johnson’s four-wheeler was
found abandoned in the woods on the north edge of the cemetery but Johnson was
unable to be located. Paulk was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding. Warrants
for Johnson’s arrest will be obtained for Fleeing and Eluding and DWLS/R (Felony).
Johnson was under supervision a probation officer and was equipped with an ankle
monitor. It was revealed that Johnson cut the monitor off of his ankle soon after he
eluded law enforcement. Both four-wheelers were impounded.
