ADJETIVES

Un adjetivo es una palabra que acompaña y modifica al nombre. Puede

ampliar, complementar o cuantificar su tamaño. Son palabras que nombran o
indican cualidades, rasgos y propiedades de los nombres o sustantivos a los
que acompañan.

TIPOS DE ADJETIVOS EN INGLÉS

1. Adjetivos calificativos
Aportan una cualidad al nombre que le acompaña. Ejemplos: good
(bueno), smart (inteligente), short (corto).
2. Adjetivos demostrativos
Indican una relación de lugar. Ejemplos: this (esto), that (eso), these
(estos), those (esos).
3. Adjetivos cuantitativos o extensivos
Determinan una cantidad sobre algo. Ejemplos: many (mucho/s), much
(mucho), some (alguno/s), any (alguno/s, ninguno).
4. Adjetivos interrogativos
Expresan preguntas identificando al nombre. Ejemplos: what? (¿qué?),
why? (¿por qué?), when? (¿cuándo).
5. Adjetivos posesivos
Indican pertenencia. Ejemplos: my (mi), your (tu), her (de ella), their (de
ellos/as, suyo).
6. Adjetivos numerales o numéricos
Determinan una cantidad numérica en el nombre. Ejemplos: one (uno/a),
first (primero), ten (diez).
