50’s. He popularized iconic music such as “blue
suade shoes” and “jail house rock”. He also had an
signiture movement in his every performance like
wild shoe tapping, hip slide, windmill motion of arms
and pelvic thrust which is recognizable worldwide.

2. FRANCISCA REYES-AQUINO

One of the most prominent filipina folk dancer and also known as
mother of Filipino folk dance. Her greatest contribution in dance
community is her effort and passion in preserving and
popularizing filipino folk dance. She is dedicaated in studying and
sharing knowledge about cultural heritage of filipino. She is the
one who discovered Tinikling, Maglalatik, Lubi-lubi, Polka sa
Nayon,

3. MICHAEL JACKSON

He is one of the most influencial and talented


singer,song writter and dancer at the same time which
up until now his music is still relevant and widely used in
every dance performance. One of his greatest
contribution in dance community is his trademark dance
move which is moonwalk, crotch grab and anti gravity
lean. He is one of the most sensational and energetic
performer who inspire a lot of musicians and dancers to
be passionate and confident like him.

4. PAULA ABDUL

She is considered as one of the americas popular dancer in 80’s who is known in her dancing skills in
hiphop. She also had various hit songs which is accompanied by her memorable and versatile
choreography and music videos. Paula is also one of the prominent dancer and choreographer in her time
along with Janet Jackson.

5. JABBAWOCKEEZ

One of the worlds most popular hip-hop dance group who


became known with their classic white mask and glove
that they used whenever they perform. Their style of
dance is mainly mixed urban style. Their choreography
captured the attention of their fans with their creative,
unique and intricate body movements.They also inspired
various group of dancer who aspire to join in every dance
competition.

6. SHAKIRA

She is a columbian singer who became one of todays most


popular female singer because of her song “waka-waka” in
2013 which became a worldwide trend that garnered billion
views in youtube. She is popular in making latin music while
she also perform her most iconic belly dancing. Her
performance also showcase her cultural lineage in which her
genre in dancing is specialized in middle eastern and
traditional latin dance style.

7. G- FORCE

One of the Philippines most popular dance group which offered


dance classes in manila. They also choreograph popular songs
such as the the recent trending “Tala” by sarah Geronimo. Their
group is inspiring due to the fact that whenever they perform on
stage, they showed a synchronized dance movement and they
are recognizable because of they interactive and expressive
facial expression and gestures. They also establish a dance
studio which helps aspiring dancer to hone their skills and talent
in dancing.
