A. DO’s & DON’Ts


DO’s
a. Do stretch and prep-works before doing any activity.
b. Do breathe slowly through your nose
c. Do stay on top of the water
d. Do use your whole body
e. Do speed drills
B. DON’Ts
a. Don’t go to the pool without a plan
b. Do not swim alone unless you are well trained
c. Don’t eat a big meal before swimming
d. Don’t jump or dive into the pool
e. Don't conduct any activities that are likely to cause danger,
obstruction or nuisance to others

BASIC SKILLS IN SWIMMING

1. Stroke – arm movements that help the body through the water.
2. Kicks – helps your body move into a direction
3. Float – helps keep body on the surface of water
4. Breath control – you have to breathe in through your nose and out to your
mouth.
5. Coordination – you must be able to coordinate your muscles and whole body.
6. Water comfort – you must know your capabilities, and be comfortable with
water
7. Raise Your Elbows High -. This also reduces the drag in the water.
