“A Youth’s Call”

Dr. Jose Rizal once said, “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan.”

Youth is the art of revolution in the society. Youth is the catalyst of change. Youth
portrays a significant role in social transformation, volunteerism, and globalization.

The act of social transformation is the determination of the youth to be fully

educated, identifying the gaps, looking beyond horizons, and generate practical
solutions towards issues circulating in the society. The act of volunteerism is the use of
their voices to address the issues in the society. Because of this, the prevalence of
involving social and political movements is led to the participation of the youth of
Globalization.

Yet, Youth in this generation is oppressed because of immature idealizations of

the society. Older generations assume that youth is immature, impractical, unrealistic,
and uncanny individuals. Even though that youth is peacefully protesting, the older
generations perceive that this is an act of terrorism.

This shows that the acts of the youth are being inhibited and blocked by the older
generations as a result until today there is an occurrence of graft and corruption, the
decapitation of our natural resources in the country, and unending debts of the country.

This doesn’t change the fact the youth would stop stating and doing what is right
through doing peaceful movements. The youth’s role of global action is to establish
political and social representation, provide support for local movement, educate people
through social media and most importantly practicing the to vote without any biases and
hindrance.

Without the youth’s contribution, some of the unsolved problems politically and
socially would not be solved. Because of innovative ideas, researches, investigatory
projects done by youth, the problems that we are experiencing especially
environmentally would not be fixed because of youth.

It’s the youth’s call to make a revolutionary change, it’s the youth’s call to act now
and alter the political and social perception. Nation by nation with various culture and
social origin will stay together and stay strong no matter what oppression throws to us
without any second thoughts.

It’s the youth’s call. And I claim it.
