ERIOPON® WFE afterclearing agent

DYEING AUXILIARIES

USES

Afterclearing and soaping agent for reactive dyeings and prints on cellulosic fibers and their blends
with fewer wash baths saving water, energy and time. Wash fastness enhancer for dyed and printed
goods produced with reactive dyes.

Characteristics Benefits

• Removes unfixed hydrolyzed • Saves time, water and energy and enhances wash
reactive dyes rigorously and faster. fastness properties.

• Unaffected in presence of salt, water • Prevents renewed uptake of unfixed dyestuff,

hardness and alkali in soaping baths. enabling optimum wash fastness properties.

• No staining of white grounds on prints and colored

• Wash bath additive keeps the
woven fabrics. Prevents cross-staining of other
reactive dyes where they belong to.
garments in the household washing.

• Allows washing-off reactive dyes in 4 • Reduced impact on environment due to reduced

to 5 steps even at lower water and energy consumption. Lower effluent
temperatures than usually required. load.

• Especially recommended in continuous washing

• Highest performance in slightly
off printed and continuously dyed fabric, e.g.
alkaline pH.

APPLICATIONS

Dissolving/diluting
ERIOPON WFE can be diluted with cold or warm water in all proportions.

Required amount
This depends on the shade depth of the dyeing or print, the washing efficiency of the equipment
and the liquor ratio. Higher amounts are used for washing off deep shades, e.g. blacks, navies, etc.

®
Soaping after printing: *2.0–4.0 g/l ERIOPON WFE (in continuous or discontinuous method)
®
Soaping after dyeing: *1.0–3.0 g/l ERIOPON WFE (in continuous or discontinuous method)

*replace g/l by % (o.w.f.) when liquor ratio is <1:10 e.g. on jet machine

Possible procedure for continuous wash-off*

Safe water, energy and time and run counterflow form the last to the first compartment all the way
through at 95°C/203°F with 6-8 liter water per kg fabric.
Soap in one or two compartments, e.g. compartment 3 and/or 4 with 1–3 g/l ERIOPON WFE (two
compartments for very dark shades)
Rinse in one or two compartments at 95°C/203°F
Neutralize with acetic acid to pH 6.5-7 in the last compartment
® ®
Soften as usual or aftertreat with e.g. ALBAFIX ECO or ALBAFIX FRD if required

Possible procedure for discontinuous wash-off*

Rinse 10 min at 70°C/158°F and neutralize with acetic acid to pH 8
Soap 10 min at 95°C/203°F 1–3 g/l ERIOPON WFE (this step can be repeated for very dark shades)
Rinse 10 min at 70°C/158°F
Rinse 10 min at 30°C/86°F
Soften as usual or aftertreat with e.g. ALBAFIX ECO or ALBAFIX FRD if required

NOTES

Hard water hinders soaping of dyeing and prints produced with reactive dyes. ERIOPON WFE is
not affected by this effect.
Conventional detergents (e.g. soap) or sequestering agents are frequently used for washing off
dyeings and prints. These products have disadvantages (e.g. inadequate stability in hard water,
foam generation, electrolytic effect or inadequate effectiveness, demetallizing effect, shade
change). ERIOPON WFE is markedly superior to such products in removing reactive dyes,
improving wash and wet fastnesses and not affecting other fastness properties.
