Individual Assignment 2
Hotel Linen
Due Date: 12/14/2016

This assignment is for a brand new 350 room property that is located at an urban area which
serves midscale guests. According to “gallup.com” the average room rate is approximately $300
a night. Also, as the general manager of the new hotel, I have decided that the hotel linen Par is
4. The reason for the very high linen Par is as a new hotel in town the hotel from the beginning
needs to be fully stocked to the brim if it expects to run smoothly.

As the new owner of this property, I have also decided to do all of the laundry onsite. As a
result, the property can handle a minor blemish or a major one should the linen need it right
away. Additionally, as the property owner, we cannot afford to be caught short on any linen
especially being a brand new hotel and upscale if we plan to be competitive.

Sheets: The reason why as the property owner I chose for the sheets that are covering all of my
beds at a thread count of 300 is because the property is representing a midscale clientele.
Additionally, the reason why I chose cotton with a polyester is because some guests may be
allergic to any other material other than cotton which soft to the touch. Also, this product
requires no ironing and less wrinkles. And the color I chose is white which is easy to see stains
and looks better on the bed.

Pillow Cases: I have also chosen the typical white standard pillow cases which also carries a 300
thread counts. The fabric for this product is in-line with the sheets that are a cotton and polyester
blend.

Duvet Covers: As the General Manager for the brand new property, I have ordered duvet covers
for my beds. They are made out of 100% Pima cotton and also has a 300 thread count.

Blankets: For the blankets to keep the guest warm at night, I have selected the 100 % cotton
also most guests are not allergic to cotton. Also the color I ordered was natural not only to keep
within the theme of the room but also to avoid color running into white sheets.

Towels: I picked a fabric of 100% Cotton in order for the towel to absorb water as the guest
dries themselves off from the shower. The color I picked was white to avoid any color running
when they are being washed.

Bath Robes: As the General Manager, I selected the 100 % terry velour cotton. Terry cloth is
very soft to the touch especially when the guest is stepping out from the shower. And the color
white to keep everything the same color.

Slippers: I picked slippers for our guest so that when the guest does arrive they can feel right at
home as they slip into the slippers or out from the shower as the result from that the guest’s feet
are not touch the harsh carpeting.

Bed Protectors: As the owner of the property I wanted to protect my investments of the beds so,
I chose bed protectors for the hotel beds. These are not only waterproof as well as Hypo-
Allergenic which avoids anyone becoming allergic to the material.
