Lincoln Park Community Services in Illinois: For 15 years, Metamorphosis (aka Meta) has
served as LPCS's signature spring fundraising event. Meta brings our community of LPCS

Donations during pandemic: On March 19, Goodwill and Central Iowa Shelter & Services
(CISS) worked together to offer an emergency donation drive for several of our homeless shelter
clients that were being rapidly housed in response to the coronavirus. A press release was issued
on Friday, March 20 and The Des Moines Register ran the article in several of the social media
platforms, as well as an article that Saturday. We had a great response. All materials gathered on
the 20, 21 and 22 of March were quarantined for the recommended 72 hours.

All three tax credit programs offer donors a 50% tax credit on state of Missouri income taxes for
donations $100 or over. For the Champion for Children tax credit program, the percentage is
variable based on the availability of tax credits. the earlier you submit your forms, the better your

Cold Weather Care will be hosting our annual Sleep Out, where participants sleep outside in
solidarity with our many community members facing homelessness in Adams County. This is an
incredible opportunity to show support for our community’s homeless individuals, gain insight
into the struggles of homelessness, and make an impact. You can sleep on the ground, in the
open air, inside your own tent, or in your personal vehicle, your choice! Those who take on the
challenge for the first time typically describe the experience as eye-opening, unforgettable and
transformative.

During the 15-hour Sleep Out, participants will enjoy dinner and breakfast we provide, hear
some awesome musicians, learn about homelessness through interesting and fun activities, and
help raise valuable funds that will allow us to continue to serve by finding personal sponsors,
much like a marathon. This is an inspiring way for families to engage together in addressing this
critical real-life issue. Our 2019 Sleep Out will be held at Northern Hills Church in Brighton.
There are also opportunities for groups to participate off-site. Tickets will be $20 per adult, $15
per child, and $50 per family, whether you participate at Northern Hills or off-site.
We anticipate a guest list of 200 plus attendees. This is a big night to not only raise community
awareness, but also raise funds to help those we serve! Our goal is to raise $60,000 and spread
the word about our mission. Your involvement will help highlight the importance of taking
positive action to combat homelessness.

On Saturday, March 17th, 56 formerly homeless men and women graduated from the Miami
Rescue Mission | Broward Outreach Centers in a cap and gown ceremony held at the Miami
Community Activity Center. Hundreds of family members and friends were in attendance. The
graduation marks a milestone in what has become a miraculous redemption for so many formerly
homeless individuals.
