1. Name and describe your top 2 favorite ideas for using audio and music tools for
teaching in your future class.
In my future classroom, I am excited to use audio and music tools to help my
students learn and better understand what they are learning. The thing that I am
excited about is using music in my classroom. I want to be able to use music to
teach vocabulary, using music when transitioning from one activity to another,
using music while my students are working, plus way more as well. Another thing I
am excited about is using audio. Audio is another way students can learn, by
listening. I want my students to be able to use audio to stay connected and to use
the resources to be able to send and audio file back.
Here is the link to me talking about using music in the classroom
This audio file is about using music in the classroom. Using music in a
classroom can benefit students into helping them understand, but it can also not
benefit some students because it can be distracting. But, I think students benefit
from using soft music while working on assignments or learning new topics. I feel
that when a teacher uses music, it helps the students learn and understand the
material more.
This audio file is about using audio in the classroom. Using audio and audio
files in the classroom can benefit students and help them understand and
comprehend the material that is being taught. In my future classroom, I want my
students to be able to use audio in the classroom and know how to use it to the best
of their ability. I want the students to be able to make their own videos and send
them if they have questions or concerns about the material. I feel that as a teacher,
this is one way to stay connected with my students and being able to have more
ways of communicating and having different resources for learning will help my
students learn in the classroom.
Activity 2: How will you have your students use and
create audio files as learners?

3. Share an example of how students might use audio files (e.g. podcasts) created by
others
Students might use audio files created by other students. This can help the
students learn from other students who may or may not be in their classroom. If a
student is not understanding what the teacher is saying, maybe learning it from
another student might help them better understand. For example, podcasts,
students can use other students podcast to listen and understand what this
student has already learned.
4. Share at least 2 ideas of how students might create their own audio file.
One way students can use audio files is communicating back and forth between the
teacher. This can help the student stay connected with his/her teacher and to ask
questions if they are having trouble understanding what is being taught. Another
way students can use audio files is when brainstorming and self-assessment. These
can help students find their strengths and weaknesses while working on their
schoolwork. They can find how audio can help them understand what is being
taught and they can practice and use it when in the classroom. Audio files also help
students practice and revise what they are reading outloud and be able to revise
while listening to it.
