 Maintenance of SNLS Machine
• Daily Maintenance

• Clean the machine and machine area, Checkup the threading of the machine,
Checkup the oil quantity and quality, Keep fabric at the bottom of the presser foot
at the end of the day, switch of the machine after operation, check the needle tip
and needle bend, checkup the needle system and size used for fabric and machine.

• Weekly Maintenance

• Check uo the oil level and oil colour, remove the belt guard, motor cover and
clean, remove the belt guard, motor cover and clean, adjust hook timing and
clearance if necessary, Use emery stone to smoothen the face plate, feed dog,
pressure foot, and hook shuttle and remove the scratches.
 Maintenance of SNLS Machine
• Monthly Maintenance

• Adjust the hook timing and clearance, Pour oil up to maximum level, checkup oil
flow in the pipe and control if necessary, tighten the screws and nuts of the
machine, check the machine free movement and apply grease if necessary.

• Quaterly Maintenance.

• Change the oil if necessary, tighten the screws and nuts of the machin, checkup
any play (blacklash) both main shaft, hook set and gears, apply grease and oil to
gears and cams, tighten the stand screws and nuts, tighten the thread stand screws,
general serving has to be done quarterly.

• Maintenance of chain drive

• Scheduled ubrication should be employed to restrict wear.

• Its advisable to adjust the alignment in regular intervals.

• Whenever we replace the chain by new on, we must change the sprocket also.

• Worn out sprocket sometimes may be used in a reverse manner.

• Maintenance of belt drive.

• Belt drive is converted at the top to protect the belt from dust, metal particles to
enter.
 Maintenance checklist for Motor
• Daily Maintenance: Examine visually earth connection and motor leads.

• Check motor windings for overheating(the permissible maximum temperature is

about that which can be comfortably felt by hand.

• Examine control equipment

• In case of oil-ring lubricated motor: 1. Examine bearings to see that oil-rings are
working; 2. Note temperature of bearings; 3. Add oil, if necessary; 4. Check
endplay.

• Weekly maintenance: Check belt tension. In case where this excessive, it should
immediately be reduced and in the case of sleeve bearing machin, the air gap
between motor stator should be checked.
• Monthly Maintenance

• Overhaul controllers, Inspect and clean oil-circuit breakers, renew oil in high speed bearing
of brushes of slip ring motors, Check the grease in ball and roller bearings and make it up
where necessary and take care of avoiding overfilling, Drain all oil from bearing, wash with
lubricating oil and refill will clean oil.

• Half- yearly Maintenance.

• Clean winding of the motors subjected to corrosive or their elements. Also bade and
varnish, if necessary. In case of slip-ring motor, check slip-ring grooving on unusual wear.

• Check grease in ball and roller bearing and make it up where necessary and take care of
avoiding overfilling. Drain all oil from bearing, wash with petrol to which a few drops of
oil have been added flush with lubricating oil refill with cleaning oil.

• Annual Maintenance; Check all high speed bearings and renew, if necessary.

• Blow out all motor windings thoroughly with clean dry air. Make sure that the pressure is
