Product distribution
This report relates the importance of choosing the correct mode of transport for the
distribution of products, highlighting that this means finding a balance between time
and budget constraints; no matter how big the business is.

When choosing the mode of transport, the following should be considered:

1. The budget should be the most important factor

2. The speed of transportation and reliability

3. If the transported product is dangerous, contact the British International Freight

Association (BIFA)

4. If expensive products are transported or by sea, you should consider insuring

them and agreeing the terms with your supplier or client to avoid confusion.

5. Consider a vehicle tracking system if cargo is valuable

6. Making sure loads are properly packaged and labeled thereby reducing the risk
of damage during transportation

Modes of transport

Rail: Transportation is fast, eco-friendly, but inflexible and can be expensive.

Air: It is the fastest to transport long distances, however, it is expensive and not
very eco-friendly.
