Activity 2 - Unit 1 and 2: Writing Assignment

Part 1: After checking the Unit 1 Topic 2: Modal Verbs, write 1 sentence using each one
of the modal verbs regarding your duties and rights as UNAD student: can – could – may
- must - should - ought to – have to – need to- had better - would.

I must actively participate in the forums

I need to improve communication with my colleagues

I should practice the language every day to learn it

We can make work groups to solve the activities

We have to carry the student card at the university

It may be that they do the work on time

You had better study hard

I would do anything to pass the matter

I could read the instructions several times

Part 2: According to the topic Past Progressive (Unit 1: Topic 3), each student must

Part 3: Write a text about how you imagine yourself in ten years. Use at least two
pictures related to your text. You should write four paragraphs:

The dream comes true

My name is Daniel Felipe Meneses Bohorquez, I am from San Luis de Gaceno Boyaca in
the country of Colombia, I am 30 years old and I currently live in Canada, I am Father,
friend husband and son.

I am a systems engineer and I work as a director in a company that designs systems, I


love my work because it is unique and imagination is used. Additionally I can manage
my time and I do what I should do according to my schedule.

My life is quiet, I leave work and meet with friends to talk but should do it often, I visit
the new places that I find interesting and I must read a book to learn.

Every morning I exercise to be able to be in good health, additionally I should practice


mountain climbing for the December competitions and I would buy a new bicycle and
have it for daily use.

Part 4: Students must comment about two partners’ contributions and make corrections if
necessary.
