Week 3

1. E-waste or electronic waste means discarded electrical or electronic devices that have no

longer can be used, obsolete, non-working, or unwanted. Every used electronic item that is

destined for salvage, recycle, reuse, and resale considered e-waste. E-waste affects human body

because it contains various toxic components such as lead, lithium, and cadmium. It is true that

e-waste recycling is the solution but its composition is dangerous for health and not favorable

due to carried out in laid-out manner. The e-waste recycling considered labor-intensive job and

they have proper precautionary measurements while recycling because waste of electronic

particles is toxic for health [ CITATION Mar18 \l 1033 ].

2. The network effects are associated with products or services that gain additional value when

people use it. For instance the awareness or rise of social media platforms where people use

these platforms and become public. This growth effect experienced by YouTube and Facebook

by traffic because users use these websites interestingly. These social medial websites are

levering services by gathering social values to one platform. WhatsApp is another example of

network effect in an instant messaging service where more users use these services to get

connected.

3. Electronic wastage has made a severe impact on environment because it releases toxic

components and harmful for humans. While recycling electronic waste there are many chances

of accidents and exposure to long-term effects on environment. Proper rules and regulations with

standardizing regulatory frameworks are recommended to minimize its impact on environment.

Strict regulations are feasible for electronic waste because it can safe against deterioration of

landfills and release sustainability to environment [ CITATION Siv13 \l 1033 ].
