1. Process addiction is also called behavioral addiction and it does not involve any drugs.

A
person can suffer from process addiction by a set of behaviors. The common process addictions
are compulsive exercising, sex addiction, internet addiction, overeating, gambling addiction, and
shopping addiction. The key difference between substance and process addiction is no physical
sign of process addiction. Process addiction is difficult to identify due to its association with
addictive behaviors. Substance addiction such prescription opioids, alcohol, cocaine, and heroin
damage various functions of brain [ CITATION Don20 \l 1033 ] (P.465. When a person dependent on
drug he/she may go into withdrawal which means his/her body is struggling without drug.
Substance addiction harmful for health and social life whereas process addiction affects human
brain and may create further frustration.
2. Missed classes, memory blackouts, and lower grades are the major examples of negative
consequences of a college student as a result of substance addiction such drug, tobacco, and
drinking [ CITATION Aar18 \l 1033 ]. The people tolerate negative behavior who involved alcohol,
tobacco, and drug use because it becomes a part of social status and its addiction creates struggle
for individual who becomes addicted. Thus, using alcohol deliberately to get or perform by
difficult situations.
3. The prescription drugs are much safer than illicit drugs because prescription drugs are
specifically prescribed by a doctor or healthcare professional. On the other hand, over-the-
counter drugs can be abused because their healthcare outcomes might be complicated. For
example, in my family, my grandmother took sleeping aids and other diet pills over-the-counter
drugs without having any prescription. This is very dangerous for her health that they taking
drugs without prescription and it becomes her addiction [ CITATION Aar18 \l 1033 ].
4. Using drugs, alcohol, and tobacco creates conflicting relationships with family and most of the
time disputes and bullying had been taken place with friends. Thus, it can be said that drug
consumption ends social life and create disrupted relationship with family members. Positive
communication plays an important role to create awareness about negative impact of drug sage
so society become safe because use of drug, tobacco, and drinking causes severe health
consequences which may lead to death. If I were the family or friend I will be flexible to
understand situation but could not tolerate because addiction outcomes lead to end-of-life.

I appreciate your thoughts that process addiction had no physical appearance as compared to
substance addiction. Massive use of tobacco and drugs can leads to its addiction and I have faced
low-grades in my last semester when I took alcohol. Thus, negative consequences impacts on my
academic success. Prescribed drugs may be dangerous as compared to illicit drugs based on
circumstances because I believe prescribed drugs are safe as compared to illicit drugs.
Good to see your post about addiction and its impact on social life balances. The academic issue
such as loss of grades and missed classes are the major negative consequences of drug, tobacco,
and drinking usage. I had experienced low grades in my last semester when I took excessive
alcohol. I like your stated facts that ever 1 in 4 children in US family with parent addicted to
alcohol and being a parent of that I would recommend to stop using drugs. Communication plays
a massive to get rid of abusive drugs and tobacco.
