This was an incident where a student was filed with Identity Theft because of her posing as
either celebrity Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan or her children to extort money from the friends
and supporters of the Pangilinan family. This is obviously a violation that would impact the
right to privacy because a personal identity is already a right, and the moment it is being
used by other people without you knowing it is a violation to your right as a human. Yes, the
local government was able to solve this with the help of the PNP.

2. Is there a need to regulate the use of internet/web, e-commerce? Why yes? Why no?
Yes, it is actually a need and a must to regulation the use of internet/web, e-commerce
because there are lots of threats and other uncountable possibilities of different
cybercrimes that might occur. The use is becoming too much and abusive to the extent
that some people are using this to unjustly benefit from other people.
