Statement of Purpose

We live in a country having a very huge population and despite many efforts from many government and
non-government institutions; the access to new and efficient techonologies, medicines, and other
essential resources is yet a dream for the bottom line poputaion of this country. Efficient usage of
nanoscience and related nanotechnology can bring a major breakthrough in the lives of marginalized and
technology deprived people. Monitoring of health, development of cheap and efficient devices, etc. can
definitely help governments dream of taking this huge population to mainstream come true. And
therefore we may claim nanoscience and nanotechnology to be the allied science for such purposes.
Keeping these crucial points in my mind, I got interested in developing such technologies and this has
motivated me to write to you in this regard.

Sir, I would like to introduce myself as, Guddu. I have completed my masters in Applied Physics from
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow; where I worked on a research project entitled
‘‘Green Synthesis of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles using plant extracts’’ under the guidance of Dr. Anil
Kumar Yadav. I have a deep interest in nanoparticle synthesis for diverse applications and I am specially
inclined towards green synthesis of nanoparticles as the wastage generated during their synthesis is non-
toxic and therefore does not require and special wastage treatment for that matter, this also adds to the
huge advantage in production of nanoparticles at industrial scales. While working with Dr. Yadav, I got
introduced to various experimental techniques, characterization techniques and different nanoparticle
synthesis methodologies.

Given an opportunity to work with your prestigious institution and having access to state of the art
laboratory and experimental facilities, I would be able to shape my research carrier. I would further like
to add that, getting enrolled as a PhD student at Shiv Nadar University will not provide me an excellent
research environment but would also shape my carrier as an upcoming experimentalist. I’m expecting a
favorable consideration from your side in this regard and looking forward to associate with your institute.
