A: Ako si Vivien Cortez Valencio, 50 years, Filipino, Biko Vendor, taga Quiot,
Cebu City. (I am ANGELINA MURILLO, 60 years, Filipino, Biko
Vendor, a resident of Quiot, Cebu City).

2. Q: Do you know a certain Melissa Ypon Apduhan?

A: Oo. (Yes.)

3: Q: Nganong kaila man ka ni Melissa Ypon Apduhan? (Why do you

know Melissa Ypon Apduhan)?
A: Silingan man gud mi ana niya sa una pa sa Villa Bulsita, Bulacao,
Cebu City. (We used be neighbors in Villa Bulsita, Bulacao, Cebu City).

4. Q: Kaila pud ka ni Jeffrey Apduhan? (Do you also know Jeffrey

Apduhan)?
A: O. Bana mana siya ni Melissa Ypon Apduhan. (Yes, he is the
husband of Melissa Ypon Apduhan.)

5. Q: So, in other words, you know both Melissa Ypon Apduhan and
Jeffrey Apduhan?
A: Oo. (Yes.)
6. Q: Niingon ka nga kini si Melisa Ypon Apduhan asawa ni
Jeffrey Ypon, kanus-a man ni sila gikasal? (You said that Melissa Ypon
Apduhan is the wife for Jeffrey Apduhan, when did they got married?)
A: Sa akong nahibaw an, naminyo na sila niadtong 2004, wala
lang ko kabalo unsay insaktong petsa. (As far as I know, they got
married in 2004, but I just do not know the exact date.)

7. Q: Sa wala pa sila gikasal, naa kaba higayon nga na-obserbahan

silang duha? (Before they got married, were you able to observe the two?)
A: O. (Yes.)

8. Q: Unya, unsa man imo na obserbahan kabahin nilnag duha saw

ala pa sila gipakasal? (And what did you observe from the two before they
got married?)
A: Kana si Jeffrey, barkadista kaayo na. Wala gyud sa iyang
hunanahuna ang mag minyo. Wala gyud nay planong bataa na mnga
mangitag trabahong tarong. Ang iyang hunahuna sigi lang laag
kuyog sa iyang barkada. (Jeffrey is really into his “barkadas”, or friends.
He really has no plan on getting a permanent job. All he thinks about is
going out with his friends. Jeffrey’s mind is always going out with his
friends, going into drinking sprees.)

9. Q: Unsa man diay trabaho ni Jeffrey sa wala pa sila nagmiyo ni

Melissa? (Wat was Jeffrey’s job, before he married Melissa?)
A: Tabang tabang siya sa iyang amahan sa ako rattan furniture
business. Pero ang iyang pagtrabaho gana-gana lang. Usahay
motunga, pero kasagaran wala gyud, tua gyud sa barkada ang
hunahuna. (He was just helping his father with the latter’s rattan
furniture business. But his work with his father, he would just show up at
the shop whenever he wanted to. Sometimes he shows up but oftentimes, his
mind would be towards going out with his friends.)

10: Q: Unya human naminyo na Jeffrey ug Melissa, nakakita na ug

permanente nga trabaho si Jeffrey? (So, after he got married, was Jeffrey
able to find a permanent job?)
A: Wala gyud. Mao ra gihapon iyang attitude, gasalig ra
gihapon sa iyang papa. Nakatrabaho to si Melissa isip cashier sa usa
ka tindahan apan si Jeffrey mao ra gihapon ang iyang attitude morag
wala naminyo. Barkada lag gihapon ang hunahuna. Gipalitan to siya
ni Melissa ug motor para himoong habal-habal, pero mao ra gihapon,
gana-gana kung mamasahero. Ang abot, kung naa man galling, sa
barkada ra gihapon, igasto para inom. Wala gyud natigom. (No. He

had the same attitude. Melissa was able to find a job as a cashier in one of
the store but Jeffrey’s attitude remain the same, as if he never got married.
Melissa bought him a motorcycle for him to use as a “habal-habal”, but the
same problem persisted, because Jeffrey’s drive to work depends on whether
he likes to work or not. The income, if they be any, Jeffrey would just spend
it on a drinking spree. There was no saving for Jeffrey.)
11. Q: Gawas ana, naa ba kay na obserbahan sa pangpuyo ni
Melissa ug Jeffrey isip bana ug asawa? (Aside from that were you able to
observe the manner in which Jeffrey and Melissa lived as husband and
wife?)
A. Sige gyud sila away. Usahay, si Jeffrey molakaw pipila ka
adlaw usa pa mobalik sa balay. (Yes. They would get into a quarrel
often. Sometimes, Jeffrey would leave and not return the house until a few
days.)
