“Reflection: How War Advanced Medical Technology”

How the war advanced medical technology. From what I have learned from
watching the "How War Advanced Medical Technology" documentary is that World War
1 was the time where medical technology advanced extensively due to the tremendous
amount of wounded soldiers. Doctors back then tried different ways to save the dying
soldiers. For example, a doctor named Ernest Cowell found a cure for soldiers that suffer
wound shock by giving them morphine and intravenous saline to cure dehydration. This
simple treatment saved many lives.

Many other procedures were discovered at this time that saved a lot of soldiers, so
if I were to be asked if this effect was good or bad I'd say it was good for the improvement
of medicine. In my understanding, there are many possible ways to develop our
profession. Such as doing clinical trials to find the cure for many diseases like cancer, or
researching more about the disease and find plants and fruits that can help make the
medicine that could provide the essentials that the patients lack.
