Time needed: 30 minutes

Standard: Standard 1 from Idaho Content Standards.

“Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drugs. The use of alcohol, tobacco, and
other drugs has major implications in the lifelong health of individuals.
Instruction includes the effects, influences, environmental exposure,
prevention and treatment of the use of alcohol, tobacco products, and
other types of drugs on the body and mind.”

Objectives:
 Students will know the effects of drugs on their bodies and mind
 Students will be able to describe and recognize healthy behaviors

Discussion/PowerPoint:
1. Discuss with students about how drugs can have a lasting impact
on their bodies and the effects while on them
2. Go through PowerPoint, answering any questions that the
students have
 3. Have students describe heathy behaviors
Check for understanding: Hand out notecards and have each student
write down, in their own words, three things that they learned and one
question that they still have.
