Practical problem solving

The practical resolution of problems makes use of pragmatic

intelligence, seeking the fastest and most effective solution to
problems.

This type of resolution is common in simple, everyday problems where

it is more important to reach the solution than the way in which it has
solved itself.

But there are people who apply this type of reasoning to solve more
complex problems. Practical resolutions are associated with intuition
and are often shown as colder, blunt and emotionally charged
solutions.

Creative problem solving

This type of resolution makes use of creative intelligence, imagination

and lateral thinking to solve complex problems.

If we want to find creative solutions to our problems, we must follow a

series of basic principles:

1. Look at the detail: forget about the most obvious causes and look a
little further to understand all the ingredients of the problem.

2. Question everything: If the usual solutions have not worked,

consider turning everything around and question all the things that you
have taken for granted.

3. Free thinking: brainstorm ideas in your head or write them down on

paper; from the most rational to the most crazy or crazy that you can
think of.

4. Get away a little: take a little distance and stand and look at the
problem from outside, with another point of view. You still find some
detail that you had not fallen into before.

5. Choose the most useful solution: New ways to solve your initial
problem may already have appeared. Choose which one is the most
useful and practical and carry it out.
