Flood is one of the natural disasters in our country.

Your teacher has asked you to write an article for your school magazine on the matter. Use
the information in the poster below.
In your article, include the following:

Section B: Continuous Writing

[50 marks]

[Time suggested: One hour]

Write a composition of about 350 words on one of the following topics.

1. Describe an important decision that you once had to make.

Explain the decision you made and how it affected your life.

2. If you had the opportunity to make one important change about your neighbourhood, what
would it be?

Give reasons to support your choice.

3. Write a story about someone who had a narrow escape.

Describe how it happened and what has that person learned from the experience.

Begin your story with: “Let me out of here at once! ...”

4. Examinations should be used to measure a student’s capability.

How far do you agree with this opinion? Explain why.

5. Imagine you participated in a competition organised by your school. Describe what happened
and how you felt on that day.
