Because of the ever present danger to road runners and possible ensuing litigation, Kembla Joggers are
the holders of a public risk liability insurance policy. It is essential therefore, that certain rules and
regulations apply. These rules and regulations are for the protection of the committee and members
alike, and it is a condition of membership that they be strictly adhered to.

Beaton Park Scholarship


The Beaton Park Scholarship is awarded annually

certain performance criteria set out by Beaton
Park, is a registered member of ANSW and who
is also a resident of the Wollongong City Council
area. The scholarship provides free access to
Beaton Park Leisure Centre facilities including
gym programs and track use for 12 months. The
scholarship is an initiative of Beaton Park Leisure
Centre and previous recipients have included
Stephen Brown in 2001 and Russell Chin in 2002.

The KJs are involved in a number of special northern suburbs. Following the great race you

KJ Road Relay
This event has now become a permanent fixture
on the KJ Winter calendar and involves club
members forming their own teams of four
runners. The mix of abilities you can include in
the team is up to you as all teams are handicapped
in a similar manner to Winter Series events. The
relays will be held on Sunday 28th September
from Dons Farm, Avondale Rd, West Dapto from
8am. The first and final changeovers are outside
the old Logbridge Farm (now Yallah Tafe). The
second leg follows Marshall Mount Rd and finally
Calderwood Rd to the second changeover. The
third and fourth legs return along the same route.
The relay will finish at the same venue where an
informal presentation of prizes will take place in
addition to the usual refreshments. Entry forms
will be also be included in The Fox later in the

This has offered runners the choice of 2 long runs
along Lake Illawarra’s foreshores: 24km or 31km.
