Lesson 1: Product Integrations

Lesson Objectives
After completing this lesson, you should be able to:

• Understand standard integration tools and methods

• Identify some of the current product integrations

Lesson 1: Product Integrations

Overview
Integrations are useful for organizations who want to keep using their existing core HR
applications, but take advantage of the functionality in Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud
Applications, such as its advanced talent management and workforce analytics
capabilities. A few common integrations import data into Fusion Applications and export
data for use by third-party providers, such as payroll suppliers and benefits carriers.

Outbound integrations support the following file types and transmission:

• CSV and other delimited TXT files

• XML
• Excel
• SFTP
• FTP
• E-Mail
• HTTP

Lesson 1: Product Integrations

Competency Data (PDI Ninth House)

The integration for PDI Ninth House Performance Suite supports the import of
competency data from PDI into Fusion Talent Management using a specialized
spreadsheet. Customized processes load competency content item data and proficiency
data into Fusion Profile Management through the Oracle ADF Desktop Integration for
Excel. The integration is a basic tool to reduce the requirement for repetitive tasks
associated with creating content items.

The integrated spreadsheet delivers the required configuration in the form of a content
type and content item for competencies as well as all required rating models and
instance qualifiers and imports:

• Categories
• Products
• Components
• Platforms
• Problem Codes
• Product Problem Codes

Lesson 1: Product Integrations

Tax-Filing Data (ADP Transporter)

Oracle has partnered with Automatic Data Processing (ADP) to provide customers the
option of allowing ADP Transporter to handle their payroll tax-filing needs. With this
integration, ADP can deposit, file federal, state and local taxes and print W-2s for
customers. This integration is only available to customers implementing US Payroll
within the Oracle Fusion HCM suite.

The integration provides two predefined extract definitions and their corresponding
Enterprise Scheduler Service (ESS) processes to support HCM Extracts of both
periodic and quarterly tax filing data. These processes, available from the Manage
Regulatory and Tax Reporting area under Submit a Process or Report, extract data into
a transmission file that is built according to ADP specifications. The customer is
responsible for transmission of the files to ADP.

When you submit the quarterly extract process, you give the process a name, enter the
tax quarter and tax year. For a periodic extract process, instead of tax quarter and tax
year, you enter periodic extract start and end dates. As with all processes, you can
optionally choose to run the process at a specific point in time or at recurring intervals.

Lesson 1: Product Integrations

Benefits Data (BenefitsXML)

Oracle has partnered with BenefitsXML on an integration that provides a service to
transform and deliver the extract data to the specification of each individual carrier.
Benefits extracts enable you create an extract file that contains enrollment information
about participants in a plan, or multiple plans that are provided by a specific carrier. You
generate one extract file for each carrier. If a carrier provides more than one plan, only
one extract is required that contains information related to all plans provided by that
carrier. For example, if ten plans are provided by four different carriers, you run four
separate extracts, one for each carrier.

All extracts have the same format and layout, and each extract contains only
information relevant to the plans carried by a specific provider, but all have the same
extract layout. To configure the plan carrier details and extract options, use the Manage
Plan Carriers task in the Plan Configuration work area.

If you choose not to use BenefitsXML, this integration supports using your own
resources to transform and deliver the output in the extract file directly to each plan
carrier according to their specifications. The Upload Custom Layout button enables you
to specify the layout for the individual carrier and accommodates additional file formats,
such as CSV, XML, or fixed length. You must ensure that fields mapped in the custom
layout equate to columns in the database tables.

Use the Manage Plan Carriers task in the Plan Configuration work area to:

• Create separate extract configuration for each plan carrier

Lesson 1: Product Integrations

• Set extract options, such as file name, processing frequency, processing type or
custom layout
• Set file transfer details such as transmission type, host, port, credentials, and
remote folder
• Assign values for lookup mapping

Use the Manage Extracts task in the Evaluation and Reporting work area to submit an
extract process for benefits data. When submitting the benefits data extract process,
you set:

• Parameters, such as carrier name to process, effective date, and whether to

transmit the output
• Process options, such as language, territory, time zone, currency, and time,
number, and date formats
• Scheduling options to run the process at a specific point in time or at recurring
intervals
• Layout and formatting preferences from BI Publisher report definitions
• Notification options to notify specified users for error, warning, success, or all
conditions

Payroll Data (ADP Connection for PayForce)

Oracle has partnered with Automatic Data Processing (ADP) to provide customers the
option of allowing ADP Connection for PayForce to handle payroll payments. This
integration is only available to customers implementing Oracle Fusion HCM in the US
although it can be configured for other payroll providers.

The integration provides a predefined HCM Extract that can be modified and saved to
create a corresponding extract process to extract the data required for processing
payments. The extract process, available from the Payroll Checklist work area under
Submit a Process or Report, then extracts data into a transmission file that is built
according to the specifications and transmits the file to ADP.

When you submit the US ADP extract process, you give the process a name and start
and end dates. As with all processes, you can optionally choose to run the process at a
specific point in time or at recurring intervals.
