A.

In your own understanding, how can drugs affect the following areas:

1. Personal
I certainly believe that one’s self is the most compromised when drug is abused; it
affects the physical appearance since drug user may no longer invest time for personal
hygiene, it also damages personality, relationship with other people and most
especially it affects one’s mental and spiritual health.

2. Familial
Drug use and abuse can affect one’s family since drugs consumes your life which leads
to damage relationships at home. An individual may decide to withdraw
himself/herself from the family members and activities. Family members may also feel
angry and embarrassed and would exclude themselves to the one who uses drugs. It
may also cause rebellions and defiant with the family.

3. Psychological
Use and abuse of drug also has a huge impact on one’s mental health; it is composed
of chemical compounds, which affects one’s body and most especially one’s mind and
will eventually lead someone to lose control of their emotions and behavior. Usage of
drugs can also cause depression, anxiety, and hallucinations.

4. Spiritual
Drug use and abuse can affect one’s spiritual state since it has an effect on how an
individual behave morally. Believing in a higher power may also be affected since once
addicted, you may put your faith into the drugs and instead of the Higher Power.

5. Social
Someone who uses and addicted with drugs greatly affect the society. With the
influence of drug, an individual does not have control with his/her actions which
might lead to committing serious crimes such as rape, child abuse, killings, and many
other more and will eventually cause downfall to the society’s values.
B. As a youth, how can you help the community in preventing Drug abuse? (Not less than 100
words)

As a youth, I certainly believe that at our age, we are prone to drug abuse that is why it is

important to let ourselves more involved with everything that is going on around us and that

includes ways to prevent drug abuse. The least I can do is to be more participative in activities

that the society implements just like drug symposiums, which discusses more about the

negative effects of addictive drugs, and from there, I would help spreading awareness about

it through advising and educating people and most importantly my fellow youth on how

harmful addictive drugs can be when use and abused.
