Re: Mark Shoemaker Reference

To Whom it may concern,

It was a privilege to hire and supervise Mark in his role of Development and Alumni Assistant.
Mark worked effectively on his own, requiring very little supervision. He was the primary
organizer of his activities, which included re-engaging Ryerson Alumni to the institution,
updating the Alumni Database, Data Entry of historical data and securing meetings with
potential sponsors to the department. I was particularly impressed with Mark’s work ethic as
he ensured his time was well utilized and asked for extra duties to round out his hours. From a
supervisory point of view, he required very little supervision and showed professionalism to the
roles and responsibilities of the position.

There are a number of other accolades I could provide regarding Mark, he completed 9
university credits whilst playing in the OHL and was drafted to the NHL. Mark is an academic all
Canadian at Ryerson, has been an excellent Community Ambassador for Ryerson, the North Bay
Battalion and the Guelph Storm.

On a personal level I found Mark to be a charming individual with a good sense of humour. I
would have hired him again, had his University Hockey Schedule allowed and would highly
recommend him for any role that requires a self-starter with strong administrative and
organizational skills.
