frequently visit Shirdi . He was from Vashnava sect.

In the beginning this devoted soul named Gangagir would get astonished on
looking at this young Fakir holding earthen pitchers in both his hands.

This young Fakir named Sai Baba used to regularly water the plants with this
unbaked water pitchers. He himself had cultivated a small part of land in to a
beautiful garden, in sacred Shirdi.
Once, Anaatrav Patankar a resident of Poona felt a strong urge for Sai Baba’s darshan. So he made
arrangements and visited Shirdi at the earliest. He was a very learned man. He had listen to the
Vedanta, he had read original Sanskrit Upanishad along with the commentaries.

But all this learning didn’t help him much. The restlessness of mind would simply not leave him.

But it all changed, as soon as he was in the physical present of Sai Baba. With great respect and
gratefulness he bowed to Shirdi Baba and offered puja with all rights and rituals. This was a wonderful
day of his life.
In the beginning most of the people in Shirdi thought of Sai Baba as mad Fakir. They would see this
Fakir in various strange moods. He would be seen laughing at himself. He would be seen talking with
somebody. Sometimes, he would be seen angrily scolding somebody, while the onlooker didn’t see
anybody in front of Him.

During those days a great soul named Devidas, with a radiant face used to live in Maruti (Lord
Hanuman) Temple, in Shirdi. He was revered by many people of Shirdi, as a saintly soul and a Guru.

This Devidas recognised Sai Baba as a Divine Soul. He told to the villagers,
M. G Pradhan was a clerk in Collector’s office. His interview was about his experiences with devotees was taken on 23rd
September 1936.

He was fortunate to hear about Sai Baba. But before that he had a tragic experience. He had lost his 7 years old child
named Dattatreya. His mind was greatly upset. Even in the midst of this tragic experience, he thought about visiting
Shirdi and see Sai Baba.

And one day he had a dream. He saw five Sadhus seated. He went to one of them and asked, “Which one of you is
Sai Baba?, and he pointed to one among them.

It did not take longer for his visit to Shirdi. He was soon on the way to Shirdi taking along with him some fruits like
Sitaphal and Ramphal from his owned garden.

He reached Shirdi and to his amazement he realised that the person whom he saw in the dream was sitting right in front
of him, the Generous Guru Sai Baba.
