23rd June 2020 Today I constructed my key three
ideas for Media Enterprise and
considered the possible risks
associated with each idea and which
idea is a more realistic option. For
example, due to the global pandemic,
I had to take into consideration the
possibility of filming indoors in a
single location and how I could adapt
to this to ensure it remains interesting
for the viewer. I used my initiative to
understand
that this is
important to
include
current
situations in
my final
product to
ensure they are targeting a current
audience. The idea I am wanting to
do the most is creating a fashion
brand and showing this through either
an advert of the buying and selling
website ‘Depop’. I looked on the
Depop website to gain some
inspiration into how to take photos
and present them in a good manner.
29th June 2020 Today I conducted analysis of
existing products that I have gained
inspiration
from. One
thing I
researched
into was an
Off-White
clothing
advert. I
really liked
the visuals
used in this
advert and want to incorporate some
of these
shots and

movements into the way I will be

advertising my own fashion brand. I
also analysed a H&M advert which
used many locations to advertise the
capability of their clothing and the
fact you can find something for any
occasion. I thought this was a very
effective marketing scheme as it
targets a wider audience. However, I
have to compromise and take into
consideration that my location
choices may be limited if we are put
under another lockdown however my
self-motivation is allowing me to find
a way around this issue to ensure my
advert still looks effective.
15th July 2020 Today I created a MindMup of my
key idea and went into better depth as
to exactly what I want my product to
look like. I decided I want to make a
fashion brand based around
monochromatism among styles and
outfits as this is a growing popular
style in current day and age, meaning
the target audience will be easy to
find in the UK. I also want to
incorporate the fashion with masks
and have these somewhat coordinate
with the styles as they have become a
staple piece of every wardrobe in
2020. This is making compromises to
incorporate the old
with the new. I also decided the
particular style I want to present is
90s/2000s clothing which has risen to
popularity recently. I researched some
inspiration photos for how I want to
take some of my photos of the
models.
23rd July 2020

Today I worked independently and

wrote in detail about my main idea
and the name for it and the particular
shots I want to use. I currently want
the name to be ‘The Colour Show’
highlighting it is a very colourful
clothing-based fashion brand. I
thought to do lots of long shots
against various coloured backgrounds
around places in London that are
popular attractions for young adults
as this will be my target audience, so
I want to present that my brand is
perfect for doing activities around
London. I think that shooting against
coloured backgrounds that contrast
with the colour the models are
wearing
will heavily enhance the outfits,
making the colours ‘pop’ which is a
marketing technique into
manipulating the audience into seeing
the brand as more appealing to the
eye. My

inspiration for this comes from the

famous pink coloured wall in LA and
I am hoping to find similar spots
around London.
24th July 2020 Today I worked with others and got
consent from various of my friends
who are happy and willing to
participate in my advert, acting as
models. I will have my models dress
up in various different colours and
film them moving around London. I
want to have a range of natural,
candid shots mixed with full body
shots of my models posing. This is to
first show off the outfits and then
show people wearing them in natural

surroundings and how they can adapt

and wear the brand in various places.
I chose to make these decisions early
on as I wanted to include some photos
of them within my audience profile
on Canva. I applied my interpersonal
skills and spoke to friends to see if
other outside perspective thought my
idea was an effective marketing
strategy, which they agreed it was.
17th August 2020 Today I initiated a questionnaire on
surveymonkey to begin my primary
research. My questionnaire consisted
of various
questions related
to online
shopping, advert
watching, and
current styles
and trends people were interested in.
This helped me gain insight into
deciding carefully what specific
clothing styles I want to incorporate
as to ensure I gain a good audience
reaction and positive feedback as the
brand is well suited to young adults of
generation Z. My questionnaire
provided results that the age ranger
was 15-19, that adverts seen on social
media platforms more than often
suited to them and whether or not
adverts gain a reaction from them e.g.
they click and browse/buy the brand.
I thought this was important to gain
insight for because if adverts didn’t
gain reaction from many young
adults, I thought it would be best to
go in a different direction with my
product to ensure it is intriguing for
my target audience.
21st September 2020 Today I began creating my audience
profile on the website ‘Canva’. As
this audience
profile is to
hypothetically
present my
advertisement
idea to a team, I
am making sure
it is very
pleasing to the
eye and intrigues the audience. It also
needs to look professional so I got
some help from my mum who works
in the journalism/editorial business to
get a few pointers and she gave me
bits of feedback to help with how I
should be presenting it. With her
help, I edited some of the language
that sounded too vague/young and
used photos of a higher standard. As
my fashion brand is very colour
themed, I have highlighted this in my
audience profile and made the colours
stand out. Today I also initiated my
first interview with my friend Rosie
in school in which I recorded us
having a conversation on my phone
through an unstructured interview.
This research allowed me to work
with others and gain insight from an
outside perspective. The interview
questions are an expansion on my
questionnaire questions to gain
further insight in my research to
ensure my audience profile is very
accurate. I got some good answers
from Rosie and imported this first
interview into a Premiere Pro
document where I am going to have
all my interviews attached along with
a script in my portfolio.
1st October 2020 Today I self-
evaluated my
brand identity and
decided on my
main colour
scheme for the
presentation side
rather than the digital side. The
website Canva allowed me to choose
a colour palette that matched the
colours used in my audience profile
document, making the decision easier
for me as it looked perfect for how I
envisioned. I have decided to go for
quite neutral yet colourful colours,
toned down but still very vibrant and
stand out. This allows a range of
styles to be featured and much room
to change things around if needed. I
also received some teacher feedback
and now I know my next step is to
expand on the ‘why’ section of the
audience profile. Talking to my
teacher helped with problem solving.
5th October 2020 Today I initiated my second interview
with my friend Poppy in the
classroom. I gained similar results to
the results I received from Rosie
which definitely enhances the
accuracy of my audience profile and I
am now sure I am promoting my
product for the correct range of
people. I then imported this audio file
into the Premiere Pro document and
noted down a rough script in my
portfolio to compare answers from
each interviewee. I also got some
more teacher feedback today and that
is to go into further detail on my
production log which I am going to
do so. I also started
putting my portfolio
all into one
document as I had
previously had these
in separate files
making it more
difficult to move it
to my Weebly when
needed. I designed
the first page of my
brief with my logo
as a big heading to
catch the eye of the
audience. I also found some photos
on Pinterest to use in my brief, which
consist of models wearing
monochromatic outfits which gives
an insight into what my brand will
look like. These photos are similar to
those that I will take of my models,
but this was not yet possible to get
done due to the social distancing
guidelines in place at the moment. I
also decided on a small slogan that
will appear below my main title
which is simply ‘monochromatic
fashion’. I think this is a good
marketing technique as it gives an
extremely brief insight into what the
fashion brand consists of. I also came
up with a longer slogan which is ‘An
inclusive fashion brand unveiling the
art of colour’ to give a more detailed
and enhanced yet still brief insight
into the fashion brand.
6th October 2020 Today I obtained
further guidance from
my teacher and
incorporated and
compromised this
feedback by
working further
independently on
my form and
layout of my brief.
As I previously
had my brief in
separate
documents, I worked to put them all
into one document on Canva. I also
did this with my portfolio and put all
my work into one document. I also
made a start on my demographic,
geographic, psychographic and
behavioural aspects of the brief and
am going to make sure I expand on
these in detail as I feel they provide
the most insight into the product as a
whole. I made sure to attach the
beginning of the ‘who’ section to the
end of the audience profile page to
make the layout flow better. This
means the ‘who’ is shown to be an
expanded version of the audience
profile.
7th October 2020 Today I am independently enhancing
the detail of my ‘who, what, when,
where and why’. This is to make it
very clear about the exact choices I
have made about my fashion brand
and advert and have made it
extremely clear the goals I want to
achieve for my fashion brand and
advert and how I will be going about
to pursue this goal. I have gone into
further detail about
the specifics of the
target audience,
where I want my
advert to be shown,
when I want it to be
shown and where. I
have configured all
the answers to these
questions based
around the
activities of 16-22-
year olds and where
and when they are
most likely to be,
thus making it clear
the advert will be shown at correct
times and places. I am also going
through my portfolio and expanding
on almost every section as I don’t
think I have gone into enough detail
in parts of it. I don’t think I have done
my consumer research to the best of
my ability, so I am going to ask for
some feedback from my teacher. I am
expanding further on my first 3 ideas
as I want to make it clear how I
obtained my final product with
inspiration from my first key ideas.
Today I also decided I want to change
my age range from 16-20 to 16-25 as
I feel my fashion brand can definitely
be expanded to people in their 20s
and feel that stopping at 20 makes my
brand too young and this can be taken
to become more immature when I
want to show sophistication in my
work.
8th October 2020 Today I worked independently to edit
together my interviews into a singular
audio clip on premiere pro. I also
decided to just put a title over the
whole video saying ‘Media Enterprise
Interviews’ so it’s not a completely
blank thing. I did this after curating
my final interview and again wrote a
brief script in my portfolio of each
answer from each interviewee, so it is
easy to see and compare results. I
then uploaded this to my YouTube
channel to
then attach it
as a video to
my Weebly. I
also printed
off my brief
and attached each sheet together to
make it into a booklet/leaflet display.
I am also expanding on my market
research today and evaluated the
results from my interviews and
explained how my answers have
helped me build by audience profile.
Throughout this stage I have been
self-evaluating my process to ensure I
am happy in the direction I am
heading with my project. Today I
printed off my brief and portfolio and
am going to print off my production
log and hand in a day early as I feel I
am ready to do so. I laid out my
portfolio in a more professional
looking way and stapled together my
brief to look like a booklet/leaflet.
