PrimaryLearning.org Handwriting Curriculum, Level 2.
Level 2 recommended for students in GRADE 1.

LEARNING FLOW

First, students learn how to write upper case letters on lines, and lower case
letters on lines. Each line has 5/8 horizontal ruling, red baseline, broken
midline, with descender space. Students explore two animals, starting with the
specific letter of the alphabet.

Then, students learn to write words and sentences and explore fun facts about
each animal.
Handwriting sentences come in three levels:
• trace words in the sentence,
• the starting point placed for each letter to write words in the sentence,
• write the sentence.

After, students rewrite the sentence using the correct punctuation and grammar.
Students self-assess their writing using the checkboxes on the bottom of the
page.

Students develop speed and natural handwriting and use these skills as an
integral part of the writing process.

With Reading&Writing connection, students read non-fiction passage about

each animal and write a narrative text to describe this animal.

Tip: Students read their writing to their classmates and ask them to guess what
animal it is.

There are two options to download learning resources.

1. Download individual workbooks for each letter,
2. Review and download only worksheets that you need for each letter.
