The little bull of Pucara

The little bull of Pucara is a piece of ceramic from a town called Pupuja in Puno. This iconic
ceramic represents protection, happiness and fertility in married life. Also, this one has
converted into the symbol of identity for the andean culture. The name of this ceramic dates
from 1908 when a section of the railway between Puno and Cusco had been finished. The
administrator of the railway, Saturnino Diaz saw an amazing bull cattle near the railway. So,
He decided to get to know the owner of the bull cattle. When he reached town. He was
surprised because there were beautiful pieces of ceramics of little bulls with different colors.
This was so nice that he helped people from town to sell their pieces of ceramics in the
Pucara station. In addition, that's where he got to know her wife. Actually, many scholars
from Puno know to make little bulls of Pucare in their schools. These ones are selled by the
scholars in the lake of Titi Caca when the tourists visit this famous lake in Peru. These ones
are so attractive for some tourists because the colors transmit happiness and it is unique
from this department of Peru.
