I don’t agree with this statement.

These environmental issues are present in all nations, may it be the

richer or poorer ones. Thus, it is not logical for only the richer ones to hold the sole responsibility. Truly,
the richer nations do have a major share of responsibility in the mitigation of these environmental
problems because they have better financial resources. However, it is a joint cooperation of everyone.
As an example, poorer nations primarily supply the food market of the richer nations. And if these
environmental issues continue to be present, it will greatly affect their harvest and crops. This is why the
richer nations should be able to develop technologies that may control these issues such as purification
of water, and educating farmers of a clean environment for crops growth. To simply put, the richer
nations should impart knowledge on the poorer nations and introduce energy-saving technologies. In
this way, we are able to educate and share our resources to each other. We share a common home,
Earth. Thus, each one should do her part responsibly. In this way only, if we work hand-in-hand, will we
be able to gain progress.

To

defend my stand, I come with different reasons to support my claim. First, richer nations do truly have
better financial resources, hence they are able to spend it on costly energy-saving technologies. But this

When we think this cannot be changed, we normalize inappropriate behaviors. We continue to act
inappropriately, simply because we think that there’s no way to change that. That becomes the very
reason why until today, we cannot achieve our environmental goals. With ignorance and lack of
awareness, this will really take us nowhere. For years, environmentalists continues to wage war and
advocate for change in order to protect our environment. Because of their continuous fight, several
contributions were made in the course of developing our environment. With that, our advocacy for
change still got a long way to go. Then, how can we go a step closer to our goals? Simply, through our
actions. And these acts of ours currently does not do anything beneficial to our environment, instead we
are only making it worse. This is why we bring change starting with our actions. By that, we can slowly
build stepping stones closer to a world where our environment needs no more protection.

In my opinion, I would say the issue on climate change. This is for the reason that this issue continues to
greatly affect every sector of Earth may it be water, land, and/or air. Although all issues are significant, I
think we should start by shedding light on this issue. As this issue even affects all the living organisms
may it be humans, animals, and the likes. If we can successfully mitigate this, we may be able to have a
smooth transition on other environmental issues as well. And if we don’t take action immediately, worst
scenarios can happen anytime. All in all, I think we should start on issues that are general and I believe
that climate change is one as it affects us all. In that way, we can start eradicating it generally and slowly
transition to more specific issues as well.
