Abstract

The research aimed to determine the factors that

affect the academic performance of the selected Grade

11 Students of SJA S.Y 2018-2019 in Filipino. The

research was conducted at St. Joseph’s Academy of

Malinao, Aklan Inc. The participants of the study were

the Grade 11 students of SJA. Students were given

questionnaires that cover about their profile such as

age, sex, and strand also some factors that may affect

their academic performance in Filipino. Results

revealed that the factors that may affect students’

performance has frequently experienced and/or has some

effects on their academic performance. The Grade 11

Students of SJA and their demographic profile has no

significant relationship with one another as revealed

in the statistical analysis conducted. Their age, sex

and strand does not have any significant relationship

with the level of proficiency that reflects their

grades.
