Having education in an area helps people think, feel, and behave in a way that contributes to their
success, and improves not only their personal satisfaction but also their community. In addition, education
develops human personality, thoughts, dealing with others and prepares people for life experiences. The 21st
century learners have embraced the new way of reading materials through the combination of internet sources
and physical sources. This research was done at the University of Cebu – Banilad (UC-B) to assess the
significant difference of academic e-book and book in academic interests of students. For the control and
causal-comparative design was used, there were 92 students as respondents in the study. The students
answered a twenty-eight (28) item experience using e-book and experience using printed book questionnaire
as a research instrument. Using the required statistical instrument, based on the result of the analysis, that
there is no significant difference between the academic interests of students in academic e-book and book.
Hence, all of the respondents are capable on the learning materials they used. The academic e-book and book
are big impact regarding to the academic interests of student.
