PENALTY CHARGES IN RENTAL FEES

Gentlemen/Medasmes:

The _________________ values its relationship with its tenant and wanted to
reach out to you in this uncertain and tough time. It understands that many
establishments are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; however, it is evident that
__________, as the lessor, is also financially affected by the said pandemic.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases Guidelines do not


provide for discounts, but only for deferral of lease payments. However, the Bayanihan
to Heal as One Act only grants a minimum of 30-day grace period for the payment of
rentals falling due within the period of Enhanced Community Quarantine without
incurring interests, penalties and other charges.

In order to address the effects of the pandemic in businesses, __________ has


already made adjustments for the billing period from the advance billing to the late
billing. However, effective on 01 August 2020, ___________ will start imposing penalty
charges and provide discount, for the payment of rental fees.
