3M 2179CM Fiber Optical Closure
3M 2179CM is a versatile fiber optical closure designed based upon FTTH
fiber network application. It can serve for fiber cable connection, distribution
and drop applications in outside plant. 2179CM closure also can be used for
in-line or butt applications based on its well considered design. One of its
advantages is multi-port feature, two main cable ports with 12 distribution
cable ports, which can help customers to minimize the number of fiber clo-
sures with lower cost. What’s more, the two main cable ports can support un
-cutting loose tubes as butt type application. In additional to that, as the
same feature as the other 3M fiber closure solutions, 2179CM also has very
stable & high sealing performance, which can be used for underground,
manhole, handhole, pole mount, wall mount and in aerial applications. It’s a
rigid non-filled case which has been rigorously tested to prove its integrity
under the most severe conditions of moisture, vibration and impact, cable
stress, flexing and temperature extremes.

The installation of 2179CM closure is very easy and requires no special tools
or complicated training procedures. And another significant feature for this
closure is re-enterable to allow easy access to the enclosed splices, which is
also very important to our customers during their daily maintenance.

Applications
The 3M 2179CM closure is an IP68 enclosure system which can organize and protect fiber optic splices in the outside
plant and inside buildings.
