*Objective:
1-to know the difference between single and double acting actuator.
2-to know the serves unit .
3-to learn how to use the control valve .
4-to learn how to determine the double or single selection by valve .

*Introduction:
There are basically two types of actuators single and
double action , the single action is a control valve that is
driven by the air output of control valve positioner on
one side but double action is control valve that is driven
by the output air of control valve positioner on both side

*Equipment’s:
1- compressor .
2- 3/2 manual directional control valve .
3- 5/2 manual directional control valve .
4- single and double acting actuator .
5- pip line .
*Executed circuit:
*Results and Observations:

- The 3/2 manual operating control valve can operate

just single piston .
- The 5/2 manual operating control valve can operate
both a single and double acting piston .
- The single acting piston required 3/2 manual operating
control valve and make work in one direction and to be
retum by internal spring .
- The double acting actuator , is the actuator that only
use piston as its element to operate the valve .
