Experiment Name: Indirect control of actuators

St. Name: omar yousif sliet

St. No.: 201710164

Section : mechanical engineering

Date: 8/10/2020
*Objective:
*Objective:
- to know and use 5/ 2 way directional control valve with double pilots .
- to know Flow control valves , And upon it Complete control of
piston movement .

*Introduction:
Flow control valves : By regulating the flow, it is possible to adjust the speed of
the pistons in pneumatic cylinders , Incoming air is only regulated on single acting
cylinders.
The flow rate in the non adjustable direction: a certain amount of compressed air
must reach the thrust chamber of the cylinder to ensure constant pressure.
- Power = Q *Δp
- Q=A*v
- The maximum flow rate when the adjusting screw fully open.
- Control of rising time (+) and return time (-) in a graphical representation of
cylinder motion is the amount of flow entering of actuator .

*Equipment’s:
1- compressor .
2- Flow control valves
3- 3/2 way valve with pushbutton
4- 5/ 2 way directional control valve with single pilots.
5- 3/2 way valve single pilot
6- single and double acting actuator .
7- pip line .
*Executed circuit:
*Results and Observations:
- Through this experience, a method for controlling the actuator and reading a
graphic representation of the movement of the cylinders was determined.
- Calculate the amount of pressure needed to move piston
