delay valve
Name : Date :
Regd-No :
OBJECTIVES:
1. To use pressure sequence valve to control the cylinder operation based on a preset pressure. [CLO4]
2. To use time-delay valve to add delays in the cylinder actuation. [CLO4]
3. To perform the experiment in a team. [CLO8]
APPARATUS:
Compressor, Service unit, manifold, 3/2 way push button valve, 3/2 roller lever valve, double acting cylinder, 5/2
way directional control valve, pressure sequence valve, time-delay valve.
Pre-Lab Reading:
▪ Pressure sequence valve
▪ Time-delay valve
▪ Embossing operation for plastics
Pre-Lab Work:
Draw the symbols of the following valves in the space given, designate port numbers and assign valve names.
Relieving type pressure regulating valve Non-relieving type pressure regulating 5/2 valve with pilot actuation and pilot
valve return
Task 1:
1. Draw the circuit diagram for the problem
2. Designate the valves and indicate the numbering system for the
connections (ports). Figure 3.1: A plastic embossing machine setup
3. Attach the pneumatic components to the trainer as described by
the instructor and describe what happens when you actuate the control valves
1. Circuit Diagram
Task 2:
1. Draw the circuit diagram for the problem
2. Designate the valves and indicate the numbering system for the connections (ports).
3. Attach the pneumatic components to the trainer as described by the instructor and describe what happens
when you actuate the control valve.
2. Working:
Review Question 1: What can be used to control the speed of extension and retraction of the pneumatic
actuators?
