Description CuZn38Pb1.5 has a very good machinability, a satisfactory cold formability and good
mechanical properties.
The material is suited for bending, riveting and upsetting. Furthermore, CuZn38Pb1.5 has a
good hot working property.

Heat treatment Melting range 895 – 900 °C


Hot working 650 – 750 °C
Soft annealing 450 – 650 °C
Thermal stress relieving 200 – 300 °C

Corrosion CuZn38Pb1.5 has a good resistance to fresh water, neutral or alkaline salt solutions,
resistance organic compounds, land, sea and industrial atmosphere.
Not resistant to acid, damp sulfur compounder, damp ammonia, especially sensitive to
stress corrosion cracking and dezincification in a not stress relieved condition.
