Unit 2: Second Activity – To specify a Purpose for Research and collect Data
The purpose for research consists of identifying the major intent or objective for a study
and narrowing it into specific research questions or hypotheses, in so doing, you must write
two (2) paragraphs specifying a purpose for your chosen educational problem in first
activity.
First paragraph: The purpose of my research is trying to implement the use of TICs as a
possible preventing tools to decrease the high levels of dropping out by students in rural
areas in schools in Colombia, it is known that technology has been progressively
increasing and taking over the world wherever we go. So, with it the interest by people of
using and perform. especially young people are the most captivated and daily motivated
for it. to help students to find the interest in being educate through technology.
Second paragraph: On the other hand, this research let teachers to investigate about
what are the right technological tools and materials that fix better on students’ necessities
to have an idea and created pages and provide students with machineries as cellphones,
laptops and tablets and finally let government to know the importance of providing
specific points of connections where students can get an adequate place to connect with
the entire world. which encourage students to prepare for coming technologies and help
them to keep motivated and forget the idea of dropping out. Many factors influence in
students to take decision as dropping out of school. But as teacher we have in our hand
the influence in changing their minds and help think different.
2. Research questions:
First question: How the use of ICTs can stimulate students to avoid the idea of dropping
out schools in rural areas?
Second question: How can ICTs help in encouraging students to keep preparing and
reduce dropping out in long terms?
3. Collecting Data
You must design one survey with ten (10) questions and their options respectively, all in
full English; i.e.:
