Medications

 The decision to start an ACE inhibitor was deferred to his new physician.

Exercise

 Encourage patient to have an active and passive ROM because it will promote blood

circulation and to improve muscle strength in order to promote total range of

motion. Also, walking in the morning may help weight loss goals. Walking at a

moderate pace for 30 minutes can burn up to 150 calories.

Treatment /Health Teachings

 Encourage patient to learn to read food labels. Use the label information on food

packages to help the patient make the best low-sodium and low-transfat

selections.

 Advise client about the importance of limiting intake of red meat and dairy

products and choosing skim milk, low-fat or fat-free dairy products instead.

Also, it also means limiting fried food and cooking with healthy oils, such as

vegetable oil.

 Encourage patient to eat at more home-cooked meals.

 Advice patient to avoid eating street foods.


 Advice patient to wash hands thoroughly with soap before and after handling

food.

 Encourage patient to cook foods thoroughly.

Diet

 Encourage patient to limit sodium intake and advice to strictly follow low salt diet.

 Advice and encourage patient to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

 Advice patient to eat more fruits and green leafy vegetables.

 Encourage patient to eat low-protein diet.

 Suggest the patient a low-salt alternative daily meal plan ideas that he can try at

home.

Out Patient

 Return to OPD in any government hospital to establish follow-up and to have the

blood pressure and renal function check.

Spiritual

 Advice patient to pray and always have faith in God .

Response: The relative and the client are well cooperative.
