DIAGNOSIS FOR CBL: COLORECTAL CARCINOMA

 Increased defecation frequency: irritation due to


rectal mass
 Small quantity of stool: Obstruction
 10kg weight loss: significant symptom for carcinoma
 Perianal exam normal: hemorrhoids ruled out
 Per rectal examination: finger stained with altered
blood
 Sigmoidoscopy: Fungating mass 15 cm from anal verge
(rectosigmoid junction is at 15 – 17 cm from anal verge)
 CT Scan: rectal mass with enlarged paracolic and para
aortic lymph nodes
