ANSWER 2:

Yes, I agree with the statement “what is useful is good”. I will justify my answer by using the
philosophy of human nature because for each individual usefulness is different depending on his
nature and need. Different philosophers have different views about human nature.
1. Freud claimed “Human are cruel, aggressive and selfish”.
2. Hobbes and Schleck said “Of all the creatures man is the most detestable”.
3. Plato said that human are capable of reasoning
ARGUMENTS:
For supporting this statement “what is useful is good” I am taking the example of usefulness of
education and learning. Because for me education is useful and I find it good to acquire
education.
The function of education is to bring about certain changes in the behavior of the individual
which are useful for the growth of an individual. These changes relate to the physical,
intellectual, and the moral development of the human beings. They reflect the growth of the
individual, as the process of education goes on and the individual continues growing physically,
mentally, and morally. Though the growth of an individual is good that’s why we can say that
what is useful is good, because through knowledge and educations individual goes on
discovering himself, he goes on acquiring more and more self-confidence and breadth of vision
which is indicative of his growth and realization of some objectives, therefore we can say that
what is useful is good.
Thus the education is useful therefore it is good to acquire education because it brings growth
and development of an individual as well as society.
